The Early Covenants of Salvation History
First of all, what is salvation history? Salvation history is the account of God's saving activity and intervention on behalf of humanity. Through the story of salvation History, we learn about the gradual Revelation of God's care for us human beings whom he created in his image and likeness. Through salvation history, God has made a series of covenants, through which he bound himself to humans forever.

The climax of salvation history was the coming of God's son, Jesus Christ. While on Earth, Jesus taught us about God through his words and deeds. He also fulfilled the Sinai Covenant by revealing the depth of its meaning and redeeming offenses against it.
Jesus is God's final and total Word. He is the Word made flesh, God's Son. He lived among as a human and completed his father's work of Salvation. Through Jesus' life, Death, and Resurrection, God completed his work of revelation.
As the Book of Hebrews states: "In times past, God spoke in partial and various ways to our ancestors through the prophets; in these last days, he spoke to us through a son, whom he made heir of all things and through whom he created the universe."

The Second Coming, also known as Judgement Day, is the final judgement of all humanity when Christ returns to Earth. This event will mark the end of Salvation History.
